At the same time, very simple accounting software would not serve the purpose either, as the financial control by such a package may not be enough to take care of the modules like debtors, creditors and cash flow. But for any business control over the cash flow and debtors and creditors is very important for profitability as well as the survival of the concern.

Requirements

Each and every company has to maintain accounts in order to meet the legal requirements and to calculate the tax as well as the profit that has to be declared every year to the concerned authorities as well as all the people related directly to the financial matters of the concern for which proper financial records are essential for accurate calculation.

Inexpensive

Since the time accounting software has entered the market, there are simple and inexpensive accounting packages available. They are more than enough to offer sufficient control over the financial requirements and information to be maintained by the small business concerns.

The main factor to be considered before making a choice of an accounting package is to know the ultimate requirement needed by the administration from the system.

If detailed information is needed and if the size of the concern is really big and it has enough employees capable of handling the system, then a database system would be appropriate. But in case of small business where the size and number of employees is small spreadsheet system of accounting software would be adequate to take care of the requirements.

So if the small concern wants to have an automated system of accounting modules, it is better to opt in for an appropriate accounting package for the financial control rather than holding on to manual accounting, which in turn would increase the efficiency and authenticity of the financial records.
